The current Cemetery Tank was constructed in 1968, is 56 years old, and is nearing the end of its useful life.

The project Includes

Replacement of the existing 0.3-MG tank and 8-inch-diameter ductile iron pipe with a 0.8-MG, AWWA D-103 glass-lined, bolted, steel panel tank and 12-inch-diameter transmission main. The project also requires grading, rock cuts, and a wire mesh for slope stabilization and rockfall mitigation. The project also includes several site and security improvements, including the following:

• Replacement of the tank-mounted communications antennae with a free-standing communications tower
• Installation of a new chain link fence around the tank site
• Improvements to the Cemetery Tank site access road

The proposed communication tower will be 60 feet tall, with a base elevation of 6,816.5 feet and a top elevation of 6,876.5 feet, located to the west side of the tank.
